The Italian media report that Giallorossi have joined chase for the long-term AC Milan target whose been heavily linked with a move to Rossoneri in the past.
AC Milan technical director Leonadro has been personally involved in negotiations with the 25-year-old Brazilian centre-back who spent his entire career to date with his boyhood club Sao Paulo.
Rodrigo Caio made over 130 league appearances for the Brazilian powerhouse.
The Brazilian international made his national team debut in 2016, the same year he was part of the side that won a gold medal at the summer Olympics in Brazil.
Caio was close to moving to Valencia in 2015 but a proposed €12.5 summer transfer collapsed after the defender failed two medicals.
